What to expect from your treatment

Before the Treatment

Your skin will be cleansed and assessed by a clinician.
The skin will be prepped with an antiseptic solution to maintain cleanliness.

During the Treatment

A medical-grade microneedling device is gently passed across the skin using shallow needle depths (typically 0.25-0.5-0.75-1mm).
You may feel a light vibrating or prickling sensation, but it is very tolerable and not painful.
A soothing or hydrating serum (like hyaluronic acid or peptides) is applied during or immediately after to calm the skin and enhance results.
Treatment typically takes 60 minutes depending on the area being treated.

Skin will look mildly pink to red, similar to a light sunburn.
You might feel a slight warmth, tightness, or tingling sensation for a few hours.

In the Days Following

1 Week Before Treatment

Avoid active skincare products: Stop using retinol, vitamin C, AHAs, BHAs, and exfoliants (glycolic, lactic, salicylic acid) for at least 5–7 days before treatment.
No cosmetic procedures: Avoid laser, waxing, injectables, peels, or other skin treatments on the area to be treated.
Limit sun exposure: Keep your skin protected from direct sun and avoid tanning beds or fake tan. Sunburned or irritated skin cannot be treated.

3–5 Days Before

Hydrate: Drink plenty of water and keep your skin moisturised. Well-hydrated skin responds better to treatment.
Avoid blood thinners (if possible): If safe for you, limit substances like alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, or omega-3 supplements that may increase sensitivity or the risk of bruising.

24 Hours Before

Skip active products again the night before, including any strong serums or exfoliants.
Avoid heavy makeup on the day of treatment.
No intense exercise or heat exposure (sauna, hot showers, steam rooms) before your appointment.

Important Reminders

Let your therapist know if you:
Have a history of cold sores (you may need antiviral medication beforehand).
Are on any medications, especially acne medications like Roaccutane (Isotretinoin).
